Why's It Always A Horse?

Working on an early preview of the 2018 NFL season, the 99th season of the league,
and Super Bowl LIII on 2319... but in the meantime... here's something silly and fun.

Super Bowls:
as far as the mascots/what the teams are named after / what they are...

Of the teams that have made Super Bowls, I figure there are 3 categories:
Human, Animal, and Vehicle.

The Jets are the vehicle.

So we're counting the Giants, Saints, and Titans as Human...
and we're counting the Bills as human because they are named after
the human being, Buffalo Bill Cody.

And this is counting the Chargers as Animal because they are named after
the war horse / horse name "charger"...

Ok, so...

ONE "Other" (Animal vs. Vehicle)
SB 3. Colts (horse) vs. Jets (airplane).

FOUR "Animal vs. Animal"
SBs: 33, 41, 48, and 50
horse vs bird, horse vs bear, horse vs bird, and horse vs cat.

Interesting that those have always included a horse...
and that there's only been four of them so far.
And even the one other that doesn't involve a Human, SB3, it had a horse too! Weird?

So far, if it doesn't have a Human, it will have a horse. That's a bit odd.

EIGHTEEN "Human vs. Human"
SBs: 1, 2, 4, 9, 10, 11, 13, 18, 25, 26, 27, 28, 30, 31, 37, 42, 45, and 46.
in there you have meat packers, indian chiefs, regular indians, pirates, cowboys,
vikings, steel workers, giants, and colonial minutemen...


and by far and away the most frequent...

TWENTY-NINE "Human vs. Animal"
SBs: 5, 6, 7, 8, 12, 14, 15, 16, 17, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 29, 32, 34, 35, 36,
38, 39, 40, 43, 44, 47, 49, 51, and 52.

Ok, well, I don't know what to make of that but there it is.

I think Saints are safely in the Human category...
you could theoretically argue about the Giants and Titans...
but they are at the very least "Humanoid"...
