Sam Gordon... SB54 PACKERS or 49ERS

The NFL 100 Super Bowl Commercial and Sam Gordon

I stumbled upon the story about how the "mystery girl" in the NFL 100 commercial
is a "girl football player" sensation, Sam Gordon...

My first thought was, where is she from? Maybe that's a SB54 clue...

Well she's from Idaho and lives in Utah.

So my next thought is, being such a football player/fan, she must have a favorite team...

Who is her favorite team!?!??

I haven't found that as easy to find out as you would think.

She apparently was the Commissioner's guest at SB47... (Ravens/49ers)
And during that experience she "blogged" about it for espnW...

From that blog series I found this quote in which she refers to being at a 49ers
Sunday walk-through on November 18, 2012,

"If you're wondering, I will be cheering for the 49ers. They invited me to a practice and let me lead the team in a cheer. Coach Jim Harbaugh asked me which team was my favorite, and I said, "Green Bay Packers." He thought that was funny but made me a deal: If the 49ers beat Green Bay in the playoffs, the 49ers would be my No. 1 team, and they did! After that, I changed my Twitter avatar to a photo of me and 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick."

*special note here: I find it pretty odd that in November, well before the playoffs were set,
Harbaugh would talk about potentially beating Green Bay in the playoffs, who would even
assume they would meet them in the playoffs? So if he really said that... I don't know.

So, from that quote we can infer that her favorite team was (and probably still is) the Packers,
but that she took an allegiance to the 49ers and also likes them...

Please note that the NFL player she interacts with the most in the commercial
is current 49er Richard Sherman...

So there's three or four strong connections to the 49ers and one pretty big thing for the Packers.

The Packers are interesting because although next season, 2019, will be their
99th actual season... they are currently celebrating their 100th year from August 11, 2018
to August 11, 2019... they say they will turn 100 years old on August 11, 2019,
because they first met and formed the team on August 11, 1919...

SO... this girl who is featured in this NFL 100th season commercial
says her favorite team is/was the Packers and they are currently celebrating
their 100th year and will, in their way of figuring things, be 100 years old all of next season...

VEDDY veddy inta'resting.

"Gordon" = 73
"Packers" = 73

Also, she's 15 years old in this commercial
and next season is Rodgers' 15th year...

and will be his 12th as their starter and he wears #12.

oh and he is currently on 100 regular season wins...

...so to start the year they say they are 100 years old,
he starts with 100 reg. season wins...

And from the day they signed him to his big extension to SB54,
is 523 days, the 99th prime, and remember it's actually their 99th season.

From her birthday to SB54 is 6190 days...
619 is the 114th prime...

If the Packers went 14-2 Rodger's would get his 114th reg. season win.

From that same blog series she mentions she cheers for all BYU players
because she and her family love BYU...

I'd say the most famous BYU alumni is Steve Young, best known as a 49er...

Other well known BYU guys in the league currently are:
Ziggy Ansah (Lions)
Taysom Hill (Saints)
Kyle Van Noy (Patriots/drafted by Lions)

You could also look at Utah players but I don't feel like it and she specifically says
she LOVES BYU... so...

The Lions could be interesting because a CAT team has never won the SB
and the whole "girl power" "female power / feminism" stuff with this girl football player,
and a major theme of the SB commercials this year was "girl power"...

...and 54... 5+4=9... I think of 9s as female and feline...

"Gordon" = 73 and 89

and the 49ers are now 73 seasons old... and the Lions are now 89 seasons old.

And then I looked for current players named Gordon...
Josh Gordon and Melvin Gordon?

Oh and in the commercial she passes the ball to Saquon Barkley (Giants)...

So based on this angle I'd take an early flyer on:
PACKERS
49ERS
Lions
Giants
Chargers
whoever Josh Gordon plays for, if he does.

Cheers!

    1. Oh wow, I only watched the commercial once, during the game, and did not notice or think anything of that. that's interesting... I HIGHLY DOUBT the patriots are winning it again. Browns would fit the drought-busting trend across the major sports...
