 SPOILER ALERT if you ever plan on watching this show and don't want major SPOILERS
then do not read.

"The Mentalist" = 47
is a show mainly about catching a guy named
"Red John" = 74...

47 / 74.

The Mentalist debuted on the 267th day of the year

"The Blake Association" = 267 [bacon]

It was a leap year, it's usually the 266th day of the year

(a crime scene tech. on every/most Red John murder scenes)

That's the day that leaves 99 days in the year

"Rosalind Harker" = 99
(blind woman that had a relationship with Red John
and who helps the protagonist identify the real Red John)

Kira Tinsley played by an actress named

That's the day that leaves 37 days in the year
(37th prime is 157 ...and 37 is the 12th prime)

"Sheriff" = 37 / "Sheriff McAllister" = 102 (12 w/o the zero)
(Red John)

"Napa Valley" = 37 / "Napa" = 102 [reverse bacon]
(Where McAllister/Red John is the Sheriff)

"J. Roth" = 37
(a fake name Red John used that wound up helping
Patrick Jane identify the real Red John)

"Alexander Harper" = 307 [reverse bacon] / "Thomas" = 102 [bacon]
(the actor that plays Red John / Red John's real first name)

"Red Tattoo" = 37
(The Red Tattoo is the episode where the key clue is revealed
by Kira Tinsley that helps identify Red John)

"Ray" = 37 / "Haffner" = 157 [reverse bacon]
(Ray Haffner was one of the final five possible Red Johns,
turned out not to be him)

"Plotnick" = 37

Again, 37 is the 12th prime,
William Blake kicked it on the 12th.

"Jane" = 12
(surname of the main character/protagonist)

"Emmanuelle Chriqui" = 102 / "Lorelei" = 102 [bacon]
(actress name/character name key in catching Red John)

"Reed" = 102 [reverse bacon] / "Ray Haffner" = 102
(actor name/character name of one of the possible Red Johns)

"Gaston" = 102 [bacon] / "Gale Bertram" = 102
(actor name/character name of one of the possible Red Johns)

The Red John reveal episode aired on a date with 12 numerology.

The Red John conclusion episode air date was also a date
with 48 numerology two different ways (standard and multiplication).

"Tyger Tyger" = 48
(from the Blake poem and coded greeting between members
of Red John's Blake Association)

"three dots" = 48
(the tattoo that Red John and Blake Association members have)

"Michael" = 48 / "Gale Bertram" = 48
(actor name/character name of one of the possible Red Johns)

"Patrick" = 48
(character name of the main character)

It was also a date w/68 numerology.

"Xander Berkley" = 68 / "McAllister" = 68
(actor name/character name of Red John)

"winery" = 68
(involved in the episode where the guy that turns out to be
Red John first appeared).

"Teresa" = 68
(character name of the female lead)

"Bruno Heller" = 68
(show creator/writer)

The series ended on the 49th day of the year.

"Tyger Tyger, burning bright, In the forests of the night;
What immortal hand or eye, Could frame thy fearful symmetry" = 490

"Teresa Lisbon" = 49

"McAllister" = 49

"Chriqui" = 49

"Corrigan" = 49

"Bertram" = 49

"pigeons" = 49 / "ornithophobia" = 227 (49th prime).
(Red John is eventually caught because of his bird phobia
and a swooping pigeon).

That's the day that leaves 316 days in the year

Tim Kang (plays the character Cho) was born 3/16.
steadiest/least changing character int he show.

316 makes people think of John 3:16
and the Red John saga conclusion began in a Church.

And then there's a couple things I noticed like...

In s2e4, the episode titled, "Red Menace",
an actor named Mac Brandt (RED haired) plays a character named, "Xander"...
The character named McAllister (sort of like MAC and is also RED John)
is played by an actor named, Xander...

In s2e23, there's a character named "Margo Ketchum", who is apparently insignificant in the plot?
This is the episode where Jane first comes face-to-face so to speak
(same room, tied in chair) with Red John.

Margo Ketchum... Mar...GO... CATCH 'EM ... get it?

And then the main victim in that Margo Ketchum episode is named
"Marley SPARROW"... Remember Red John's bird phobia... and in this episode
where Jane and Red John first "meet", the victim is named
"SPARROW"... Wow.

Cheers!

  1. Awesome Post. It was an amazing show when it aired. It makes me think of the show Psych which had a similar character.

    1. Hey, thanks a lot! I didn't think I would but I wound up loving this show. Bit embarrassing to admit but I do. I'm jonesing for a similar show to watch now that I'm done with it, and have heard about Psych. Wanna check that out for sure.

      Thanks man.

  2. Hey, thank you. I appreciate it. And sorry if I came off a bit harsh in my first comment to you over on Brendan's blog.

    I guess this is a "guilty pleasure" show for me. Been wanting to do a tv/movie decode/study and so... I think some of this stuff is pretty strong- like the way so many actor names match up with the character names they play. but anyway... thanks again.
