NFL player sells Mantle rookie card for $2.88 million

Former NFL offensive lineman Evan Mathis made history by
selling a 1952 Mickey Mantle rookie card for $2.88 million dollars,
late Thursday, 4/19/18...

Noticing a story like that, in the time after SB 52 (1952 card),
involving a player who played for the Eagles (team that won SB 52),
I figured I better have a look at it... see if maybe there's any clues
for the upcoming season and super bowl (SB 53, the 49th of the modern era)...

49

"Evan Mathis" = 49...

his final game was against the 49ers...

...and he wore #sixty-nine,
and Mickey Mantle was known as,
"The Mick" = sixty-nine...

...and "sixty-nine" = 49.

53

The day he sold the card was 24 weeks and 1 day (241)
after his birthday... 241 is the 53rd prime...

...it was also 5 months and 30 days (53) after what would've been
Mantle's birthday...

...Mathis is quoted as saying the reason he sold the card was so
he could build his family a,
"dream house" = 53...

...specifically a,
"Tennessee dream house" = 241 [bacon]...

53 reversed is 35...

Mathis was born on the 305th (35) day of the year.

The "rookie" = 35, "baseball card" = 35, was estimated to sell
for 3.5 million (35)...

35th prime is 149.
Mantle played in a total of 149 games his rookie year.

109

The day he sold the card,
(4/19... 419... 419 is the 81st prime, Mathis was born in '81),
was also the day the NFL released the schedules, and it was
the 109th day of the year...

"Evan Bradley Mathis" = 109...

...remember, he did it for his,
"dream house" = 109, his,
"Tennessee dream house" = 109...

...and it was a card of,
"Mickey Charles Mantle" = 109... !!!!! c'mon..

13

It was 169 days after his birthday, 169 is 13 squared,
his and Mantle's birthdays are 13 days apart.

140

It was 140 days before the season begins.
Mickey Mantle kicked it on the day that leaves 140 days in the year.

18

He was born on a date with 108 numerology, his final action/transaction
in the NFL was when he was placed on IR on 10/8 (108) twenty-sixteen...

...108 is 18 w/o the zero...

this is the '18 season...

the price of the card, 2.88 ... 288...
288 has 18 divisors...

Mathis' nickname,
"Ogre" = 18...

Mantle played 18 seasons.

Mantle hit 18 home runs his final season,
and hit 18 home runs in his playoff career.

18th prime is 61...
Mathis lost 61 career regular season games...

...it was a date with 61 numerology (4+19+20+18=61)...

...Mickey Mantle was born on a date with 61 numerology...
it was 6 months and 1 day (61) from what would be his birthday...

Mathis' initials,
"EBM" = 61...

...and hello, Mantle and Roger Maris had a home run battle in 1961, and
Maris famously hit 61 home runs in the year '61...

And of course 61 reversed is 16 and the 16th prime is 53
and so maybe there is some clues to SB 53...

41

Maybe there's some SB clues because...
"Super Bowl" = 41, the date he sold the card was a date w/41 numerology...

the 41st prime is 179

"Evan Bradley Mathis" = 179

and the price he sold the card for,
"two point eight eight million dollars" = 179

99

Mathis started 99 all time games...

this will be the 99th NFL season...

"rookie card" = 99...

9 x 9 = 81... Mathis born in '81... 81st prime date(4/19), reverse of 18 etc...

34

Now some 34 stuff, me and my main man Brendan F
over at WokeStool Sports, linked at the top of my blog,
have been working on some Baltimore/34 stuff...

The day he sold the card was a date with 34 numerology,
from the time Mantle kicked it to the selling of the card was
22 years, 8 months, and 7 days (2287),
2287 is the 340th (34) prime...

..."Mathis" = 34, appeared in 139 games (34th prime)...

...and he sold that,
"Mantle" = 34, card...

...so he could buy his,
"Tennessee" = 34, dream house...

and remember the sixty-nine connection,
"sixty-nine" = 139...

Mathis' initials,
"EBM" = 139 [reverse bacon]...

he was 34 years old during his super bowl run with Denver.

Now some other misc...

From what would've been Mantle's birthday to the start of the season,
10 months and 21 days (1021)
1021 is the 172nd prime...

"The Mick" = 172 [reverse bacon]...

and the price of the card,
"two point eight eight millions dollars" = 172

From the date that Mathis was cut by the Eagles (reigning champs),
to the selling of the card,
was 1042 days (142)...

Mantle played 142 regular season games his rookie year...
142 reversed is 241
241 the 53rd prime... SB53...

and that date he was cut by the Eagles,
that was a date with 18 and 53 numerology!

it was also 34 months and 7 days (347)
from the cutting to the sale of the card...
347 is the 69th prime... remember the 69 connection...

Mantle played in the AL (American League)
which is also the abbreviation for Alabama,
where Mathis was born...

The Bills signed Alabama QB A.J. McCarron this off season...

Mathis won SB50 with the Broncos...

"Mickey Mantle" = 50,
was just over 50 years old when Mathis was born...

"sixty-nine" = 50 (remember the sixty-nine connection)...

"Alabama" = 50... where he's from.

his one playoff game with the Eagles totaled to 50 points.

Mathis is 36 years old. (born on a date w/36 numerology).
Mantle was 36 years old when he retired. (kicked it on date w/36 numerology).

Mathis final NFL team,
"Cardinals" = 36...

"two point eighty-eight million" = 363...

Mantle's stats adjusted for a 162 game average:
36 home runs per year...

3 x 6 = 18... the year etc...

Ok now get this...

Since Mantle's rookie year he was named an All Star EVERY year
except one...

...in 1966 (the year he was 34 years old btw- look back up to the 34 stuff)...
he was not an all-star and his batting average that year was...

.288!

kinda like the 2.88 million dollars. HA!

That's about that...

random musings... sometimes I feel like a cat team is due to "win" it...
Jags are hot right now... The Bengals and Lions have been getting closer-ish...
the Panthers have been in it recently...

this Mathis was drafted by the Panthers...

and it's a 1952 rookie card right, so who won the NFL champ. in '52?

Detroit Lions.

But I don't know.

Ok, cheers!

  2. Looking at Maris stats, 1958 is sticking out
    I keep seeing 58 everywhere

1958 the Baltimore Colts beat the NY Giants 23-17 in the "Greatest Game Ever Played"

    In 58' maris was 23
On 6/15/58 he was traded from the Cleveland Indians to the Kansas City Athletics

This was the 166th day of the year and leaves 199 days left

    Once on KC...
    Maris played in 99 games
    Had 99 hits, 61 Runs, 53 RBIs

    58 was 50 years ago

    Mathis won SB50

    1. that 99 games, 99 hits, 61 runs, and 53 RBI made me go WHOAH. Nice stuff- but just wondering how much to factor Maris, I suppose a lot because of the 61 homers and race with Mantle in '61... but yeah, that is some wild wild stuff.

      ok cheers!
